Movember Madness!

Wine Appreciation Society - Sunday 27th November 2011

Mr. David Standfield (from London wine dealers, Jeroboams) gave a great talk on the Bordeaux blends found around the world.  The boys were very attentive!

Mrs. Jamieson put together a delicious meal for the members.

The finish on a particular Argentinian blend caused much conjecture and debate.

The Tagore Piano Prize - 17th November 2011

Andy Huang played Hofmann and Chopin and Ben Young played more modern pieces (Carl Nielsen and Mike Cornick) in the senior prize competition.  Both were quite brilliant and Andy placed third overall. Andy was also invited to perform in a mini-masterclass with the adjudicator, Mr Alasdair Beatson, who tried to get some more 'playfulness' into the Hofmann Scherzo Op.77 no.7!
