After the highs of house singing a committed group of Sanderson's and Pemberley boys headed out to the Oxfordshire woods for some 'back to basics' camping. Firelighting, tree climbing, stalking and much axe-wielding took place as we lived off the land and in our shelters made of wood and grass.
What an evening! Despite having the smallest choir and less than the most illustrious history in this particular house event, the boys managed to take two of the three cups available and complete a clean sweep of all cups in the past two years. I hope the following photographs manage to convey just what a brilliant night it was for all involved in the Great Hall:
Before we could have a BBQ, we had to build the BBQ itself. Sandor and newly-arrived Kristof put their heads together and built the new machine; it even worked!
In the peaceful summer weeks, the workmen have been at Sanderson's and have refurbished a number of dormitories and our Common Room. All are now much improved, I just wonder how long they will remain so with the boys back at 18 Rothsay Place...!
